Let's spin right here, right now! Thank you for visiting us. Collect your deserved Rewards! Are you with us?Asbestos exposure is linked to mesothelioma, a deadly cancer of the lungs. Workers exposed to asbestos decades ago - even as far back as the 1940s - are now beginning to show mesothelioma symptoms because of the long latency period of the disease. Typically people who worked in trades or did manual labor are at risk. But it's not just the worker who is at risk of asbestos cancer. A spouse or children of the worker may have been exposed when the worker came home with asbestos dust on his clothes.
If you worked in an industry or environment where asbestos was present for even as little as a month or two, you may be at risk of developing mesothelioma. Industries and environments where asbestos was present include construction sites, demolition sites, shipyards, paper mills, heating, and cooling repair, automotive repair, and roofing.

How many years of experience does this mesothelioma law firm provide for your clients?
The Lanier Law Firm has been handling mesothelioma cases since 1998.

The Lanier Law Firm has significant experience working on behalf of families and victims of chemical exposures, including mesothelioma cases. Since 1998, Mark Lanier and The Lanier Law Firm have won many substantial recoveries on behalf of asbestos exposure victims and those suffering from mesothelioma. One of those cases involved 21 steelworkers who contracted the asbestos disease while using a grinding wheel at an Alabama steel mill (Aaron, et al. v. Abex, et al., February 1998). The jury found the defendants liable for marketing and design defects, negligence, gross negligence, and malice.
What were the usual outcomes (out-of-court settlement, win, loss, appeal)?
Please call us toll-free at 1-800-250-5213 and speak to a legal representative. They will be able to provide you a history of our court cases and their outcomes. Below is a list of cases that The Lanier Law Firm has won.
Will you be able to speak with members of the firm as needed? Will your calls be returned in a timely manner and your questions answered clearly?
At The Lanier Law Firm, we understand that communication is paramount and vital for those suffering from a mesothelioma diagnosis. Generally, all calls and emails are answered immediately.
Will the law firm be handling your case personally?
Many law firms that advertise online, on TV, on the radio, and in newspapers will attempt to sign you up as a client and then sell off your case to whatever law firm bids the highest, including firms that may have literally no experience in mesothelioma court cases. The Mesothelioma Advocate is operated and owned by The Lanier Law Firm. We do not sell off our clients’ mesothelioma cases to other law firms. We are one of the premier national mesothelioma law firms in the country.

What Is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a mineral that has been used in U.S. construction projects since the 1850s. It was commonly used in cement sheeting, drainage pipes, roofing and other building boards, as well as car parts including brakes and clutches in the 20th century. Researchers began discovering the risks of asbestos exposure as early as the 1930s, but many companies ignored the risk and continued to use asbestos in building materials and other products. By the 1950s, the link between asbestos and lung cancer had been firmly established, but heartless companies ignored the evidence. It was not until the 1970s that U.S. companies began to stop using asbestos when federal regulations against usage came into place and federal courts ruled that asbestos manufacturers had engaged in a conscious conspiracy to downplay the health hazards of asbestos.
Asbestos Is Deadly, and Companies Know It
We now know firmly that breathing in asbestos significantly increases the risk of lung cancer and other lung diseases. We also know that companies continued to use asbestos in building materials and consumer products long after they claimed to stop and that they knew about the risks of asbestos exposure well before that. The experienced personal injury attorneys at Rusk, Wadlin, Heppner & Martuscello, LLP will make sure that unscrupulous companies are held accountable for exposing you and your loved ones to the deadly effects of asbestos.
Where Is Asbestos Found?
Asbestos has been found in various types of workplaces across the state of New York. Construction companies, building operators, real estate companies, and employers who know about and disregard the risk asbestos poses to workers must be held accountable. Asbestos has been found in areas including:
- Construction sites
- Shipyards
- Power Plants
- Mines
- Office buildings
- Automotive assembly plants
Additionally, asbestos has been linked to disease and death following exposure in the home. Asbestos continues to be a problem in places such as:
- Apartment buildings
- Consumer products with talcum powder
- Older car parts
There have been thousands of lawsuits in recent years against companies like Johnson & Johnson for the continued presence of asbestos in products like baby powder. New York regulators have conducted recent investigations into contractors and construction businesses suspected of failing to remove, improperly disposing of, or otherwise mishandling asbestos taken from work sites. These companies need to be held accountable for the damage their contaminated products have caused.
